to the Mickleover website. For although it is a suburb of
Derby, Mickleover has its own identity and is often referred to as “The Village”
by locals. This site has been created to bring together
information from a wide range of sources into one place, to give residents,
visitors and those considering a move here a good overall picture of everything
you can do in the village.

August enjoyed the Beach, Punch and Judy, Surfing, Funfair, Food and
Entertainment and much more.
The Mickleover Summer Fete,
held in the centre of the village at the Spring Bank Holidayand
enjoyed by over 8000 people. Part of the main road was closed to make room
for the funfair, stalls, food and entertainment.
We had planned to have
our 2015 Christmas Festival on Advent Sunday, 29th Nov. Unfortunately it
had to be called off at the last moment because of the high wind and the
consequent danger of injury and damage. It was the first event that we
have had to call off due to bad weather. We look forward to our new
programme for 2016.

a Giant Water Slide on the 7th September. This became
a nationally recognised event and attracted visitors from all over the
country. It was held on Kipling Drive. Sponsored by Huub and MBS, the
proceeds went to Cancer UK.

of links – to the sporting and social activities which take place here or have
connections here; to the facilities which are available for hire, and how to
book them; to statistics and to wider organisations with an interest in the
area. You will also find out some of our history, and some suggestions for
local walks and cycle paths. More will be added as information is collected, but
there is already a lot to explore – Library, Churches, Buses, Community Centre
