The Mickleover Community Pavilion is situated on Vicarage Park, which has a football pitch a children's playground and a substantial grass area. The Pavilion has a large community room which opens onto the playing field and a full set of changing rooms for football matches. The rooms can be hired by contacting Linda Adams on 746571.
The Community Pavilion was built as one of the results of the activities of Mickleover Action Group (MAG) which was formed at the end of 1999 to address the youth oriented anti-social behaviour that had existed in Mickleover for some time.

The original cricket pavilion on Vicarage Park had burnt down and there was little for young people to do in the area. MAG was keen to reduce the incidents of crime, vandalism and disorder by providing adequate facilities, both indoor and outdoor, to meet the current needs and interests of local youth. The principal requirement for a Community Pavilion on Vicarage Park was that it would provide suitable activities to occupy the young people and reduce the likelihood of anti-social behaviour.
After a number of failed attempts to secure funding, in 2004 the local authority agreed to provide a capital sum of £448,000 to build a community facility, together with comprehensive changing rooms to enable youth football once again to be played on the park.
The Mickleover Community Pavilion Association (MCPA) was set up to take control of the operation of the facility.
The new pavilion was opened in 2006 and youth football teams are using the changing rooms.  The community room is occupied every week day evening for various youth related activities, and most of the morning capacity is also taken up.  However there is time available during the afternoons for local groups who could use it on a regular basis
