Mickleover” – it’s a simple name, a simple concept. Established with the
aim of binding together our ever-expanding suburb to keep that ‘village’
feel, we’re a mixed bunch of folk. Some are members of local clubs or
churches. Others work in or own local shops and businesses. Several have
children attending our nurseries and schools, others teach those children. All
of us have a vested interest in Mickleover as a community and that’s why
we’re coming together.

Christmas 2013 were on Sunday 1st December, when the centre of the village
was closed to traffic to make room for a Christmas Market, Funfair,

switching on of the new improved Christmas lights and Fireworks. It was a
great success and was attended by an estimated 5000 people. Some
