Most of Mickleover is now covered by the Derby City Council's Rethink Rubbish initiative. In alternate weeks some recyclable material is collected , with all other rubbish being collected the other weeks.  Details can be found on the Derby City Council website.

The website also includes information about disposing of large household items, chemicals and other items that are difficult to dispose of.

There are two local recycling sites in Mickleover that collect recyclable material that you do not have room for in your bins.  These are on Tesco's car park in Kipling Drive and on the junction of Chestnut Avenue and Devonshire Drive. For details of what is collected at these sites click here.

Other Items can be taken to the Raynesway Civic Amenity Site which covers the items listed here.

The council can also arrange for large items to be collected from your homes.

For local Derby recycling and other environmental information, see the Beehive website

There are many recyclable items that can provide benefit to charities or can effectively be reused
